To summarise the research, soft skills are increasingly in demand, and developing leadership skills are a top priority for businesses.

All of this data is pointing to the same thing, it’s business critical that we equip our people from entry level to leaders, with the soft skills they need to succeed. And, that we start preparing our future leaders today with the skills they need to lead businesses to a successful future.

So, what does this mean for L&D?

As learning professionals, we have big task ahead, but also a fantastic opportunity to support our people and organisations. It’s clear that businesses are starting to view L&D as a strategic partner who are a key part of a successful future. As more businesses start to give L&D a seat on the board, it’s up to us to make sure we are anticipating our organisation’s needs and are helping our learners develop the skill set they need to navigate through an uncertain future.
